Sunday December 16th, noonish, the east village gets plastered! If you like scenery and/or want to learn, this is a great place to get started. Wear a beater shirt. Bring plastic bowls, Tupperware, heavy paper towels (like the shop type), or newspaper, plus masking tape to protect the track, glue guns, stirring sticks, and a good sense of humor. All will be shared. Here are the steps:
1- Remove cars and structures, setting them carefully on a table so they don’t get messy.
2- Ease elevation changes with cardboard, crumpled paper, and styrofoam.
3- Overlay everything with hydrocal-soaked paper towels and newspaper, giving our ground it’s basic shape.
4- Do a second layer where needed.
5- Rough in the lagoon.
6- Install the last mainline x-over just east of the yard.
If the hydrocal dries fast enough, Matt will do a ground cover 101 mini-clinic.
We want to cover everything on the “east” end of the layout, make a mess, and have fun doing it.
